George Washington was born on February 22, 1732, in the colony of Virginia, British America. He was the first president of the United States, served from 1789 to 1797. His father Augustine Washington was a planter and his mother Mary bol Washington was a housewife. George died at the age of 67 on December 14, 1799.

Role in building America

George Washington was the first president of the United States also called the founding father of U.S. Washington was the one among those who played a key role in adopting the constitution to America. Washington played a key role in many wars, of which the French and Indian War was the major one.

Life in the army

George Washington served 6 years as commander, in colonial forces and 9 years in continental Army from 1775 to 1783 as a journalist. He became Lieutenant general of the US Army in 1798 and served till his death in 1799.
